4. How we use information

5. Legal bases

Where laws such as the UK or EU GDPR apply, we process information as needed to perform our contract with you; comply with law; pursue legitimate interests such as safety, fraud prevention, service improvement and legal claims where those interests are not overridden; protect vital interests in an emergency; and obtain consent where required, including for certain device permissions or optional communications. You may withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Some information is necessary to provide the Service; if you do not provide it, the relevant feature or account may not be available.

6. Sensitive information

Profile fields or communications may reveal information treated as sensitive in some countries, such as gender, sexual orientation inferred from discovery choices, precise location or financial information. We process this information only for the feature you request, safety and legal purposes, and with consent or another lawful basis where required. Do not include unnecessary sensitive information in public profiles, chats or reports.

7. Automated processing

Automated systems may rank discovery content, extract receipt fields, identify duplicate or suspicious activity, route reports and support moderation. These tools may be inaccurate and important reimbursement or enforcement decisions may include human review. Where applicable law grants a right concerning a decision based solely on automated processing with legal or similarly significant effects, contact us to request information, human review or challenge the outcome.

8. Sharing and recipients

We share profile and experience information with members according to the feature and your settings. Confirmed participants may receive additional schedule or location details. We use service providers for cloud hosting, authentication, notifications, video, maps and location, app distribution, payment, banking and payouts, exchange rates, receipt extraction, fraud prevention, diagnostics, customer support and professional advice. Providers may process information only for contracted purposes and subject to appropriate safeguards.

Backups expire on their normal cycle. We delete or anonymise information when no longer required, but may preserve information under a legal hold or where deletion would impair another person’s rights or an unresolved transaction.

11. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, receive portable data, withdraw consent, opt out of certain sharing, and complain to a data-protection authority.
